Hi! I’m so happy you’re here. I’m Kathryn, a yoga instructor specializing in Yoga Nidra. Nidra is a special meditation technique designed to calm the stormy seas of the mind and give you feelings of deep relaxation and peace. Nidra is an amazing practice if you want more out of life, but are feeling stuck in old habits and mindsets that no longer serve the person you want to become and the life you want to live.

I’m no stranger to that feeling of being “stuck” – whether it’s in your career, your relationships, or just life in general (Depression, I’m looking at you.). When you’re in the trenches, it can feel like there’s no end in sight. After learning about Nidra through a childhood friend, I quickly made the decision to completely change career paths to pursue a career in yoga and meditation, because these techniques had such a powerful impact on my life during an incredibly difficult season. As soon as I discovered Nidra, I knew I needed to teach!

This practice focuses on calming the body so we can dive deep into the subconscious mind to address any blocks preventing you from feeling like your absolute best, most-aligned self.

My Focus Areas

  •  Depression

  •  General Anxiety

  •  Limiting Beliefs

  • Worthiness Wounds

  • Stress

  • Negative Self-Talk

Goal/Approach

My practice uses gentle movement paired with a unique meditation technique designed to help you quiet the body and tap into your subconscious so you can start feeling better from the inside out. I believe in the importance of self-acceptance, but I know how difficult it can be to get to that place on your own. I’ll guide you through body scans, visualizations, and positive affirmations to gently open your mind to the potential of all the good things this life has to offer you. This approach helps clients combat feelings of depression, anxiety, and unworthiness by acting as a “mental detox” of sorts–moving through old beliefs that no longer serve the person you want to become to make space in your mind for new habits and thought patterns that serve your Highest self. Think of Yoga Nidra as another incredible tool in your spiritual toolbelt as you navigate through Earth School ;)

Qualifications

I received my training in Ashtanga, Yin, and Yoga Nidra from Yoga Alliance through Fit to be Tied Yoga Studio in Cooperstown, NY. Throughout my training, I found that when I was able to quiet my body and shift my attention to more positive thought patterns through the help of my practitioner, I was able to more quickly identify and release my negative thoughts on my own in real-time. This is coming from someone who was accustomed to “spiraling” in my old negative thought patterns. In fact, through regular Nidra (and eventually EFT later on!) I noticed I was experiencing fewer and fewer instances of negative self-talk. Feeling that shift in my perspective gave me the more positive outlook on life that I was craving.

Personal Info:

Born and raised in CNY, I am currently living in Syracuse with my partner of 8 years and our sweet old cat, Leo. I’m an introvert through and through, and I absolutely cherish my alone time to read, move my body, meditate, and Just Be. Helping others address their subconscious blocks through Yoga Nidra has become one of the greatest energy-givers in my life, and I couldn’t be more excited to be joining the Anam Wellness Team. Over the past 2 years, I’ve developed a passion for rewiring the subconscious mind through EFT, and it’s my goal to join the team as an EFT-Practitioner in the near future. I can’t wait to work with you!
